Shocking stats!

I have a new app that calculates how much you're spending on booze and also the calories, good lord! 5000 a week and about 90quid! :-O

The count down

Ok so last night I went to the cinema, in our local independent cinema you can actually take booze in,  and I have in the past. I went to see Everest and it was quite a thrilling film. After the film himself and I went to the pub and had a couple. Having said that I think it would have been fine with just a softie, the only problem I'm wondering about is whether other people will be too loud and annoying to bear (like I suppose I usually am!) . I'm sure that alcohol dulls all the senses which is why people shout....

I don't want to be one of those people who I think AA refer to as a 'dry drunk' Someone who stops drinking and just becomes miserable and/or is never seen again. there no need for that! I used to go out and loved going out before I was old enough to drink or could afford to drink.... (who can really afford it) I still had a good time, yeah ok that was a long time ago but still!

Bought myself some posh Cordial too!  and its all mine!

Youmer!!!

Three days and counting

Two days...three evenings to go!

So I have decided to start a blog to record and reflect my experience of a month on the wagon. I intend to observe not just how I'm feeling but what I notice about how my life does or doesnt change, peoples reactions and qall the exciting things that I will actually be able to remeber in great detail. I visualise myself on 1st Nove svelte healthy and sparkling!  oh and smug Ill be smug!  but will I be gagging for a Sav Blanc? we'll see!

To give you some background I dont actually drink every day, but I spend a good deal of time in the pub, I live in a small town and have a partner who drinks every day, I sail.....and I drink!  Its cultural you see!  However during this period I will be sailing every Sunday, sans beverage... interesting! I have actually done this sort of thing before, I used to live in Australia and I did Ocsober there a couple of times. However, at that time I lived alone in Sydney and I proabably didn't get out as much as I do now, I actually found it very easy and by week 3 I felt pretty good, I didnt lose any weight though, disapointing but Im  hoping I will feel fitter and leaner this time.

I was actually quite surprised lat time how easy it was and in a weird way how little it actually changed anything, and if thats the case then why do it at all? I intend to reflect on that over the next month....

Wish me luck!!!
